Mississippi Guard records 100 flights in response to oil spill

The 130th Airlift Wing out of Clarksburg, W. Va., flew the Reconnaissance Cargo - 26B (RC-26B) aircraft over Indiana June 11, to give aerial footage of flood damage to the Indiana National Guard to be made available for the public. The live footage will provide details about washed out roads, damage to infrastructure and other information that Indiana may have lacked.

Hawaiian brothers manage fitness operations during deployment

The scenario was one of many training situations the Soldiers have encountered during Golden Coyote, a military training exercise hosted by the South Dakota National Guard near Rapid City, S.D. Soldiers with the North Dakota Army National Guard’s 191st Military Police Company have been training alongside nearly 2,200 other service members during the two-week exercise.

North Dakota Guardsmen learn to locate downed pilots in Black Hill

After successfully completing their portion of a course at Golden Coyote, pilots are individually air-lifted from the training area. Nearly 2,200 service members are taking part in the two-week training exercise hosted by the South Dakota National Guard. North Dakota’s 191st Military Police Company trained by searching for the pilots, who were in turn working to evade capture after their planes were downed in enemy territory.

Service members stationed at the Custer State Park Airport during the 26th Annual Golden Coyote training exercise enjoyed various amenities offered by one of the Mobile USO vehicles that made its way up from Dallas, Texas. This mobile unit, which is only one of three in the country, is assigned to the central region of the U.S. The Mobile USO program is designed to support troops in remote or isolated areas throughout the United States by allowing them to relax and connect with friends and family during their down time.
