Organization honors Guard children

The QRF were responding to a request from a rural farm resident, living along the Sheyenne River, for sandbag assistance to create a flood levee barrier to rising water around his house. As of April 14, more than 500 N.D. National Guard Airmen and Soldiers were conducting flood operations in North Dakota, with the vast majority in Cass County.

The QRF is responding to a request from a farm resident through the Cass County Emergency Operations Center for sandbag assistance to create a flood levee barrier to rising water around his house. The tractor is one of the few vehicles light enough and high enough to cross a precarious section of flooded roadway leading to the farmstead without damaging the road.
National Guard biathletes on target with Wounded Warriors assist

Dennis Hooper, a retired Army Soldier and Wounded Warrior biathlete, sit-skis toward the finish line of the Mammoth Winter Biathlon on March 26 in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. Fifteen National Guard biathletes assisted at the event, which marked the first time Guard athletes were sent to an event primarily to support a Wounded Warrior competition.
