A first: Missouri MP unit ventures into chemical defense training

Mitchell is one of over 90 MPs from the unit who participated in specialized chemical defense training at the chemical defense training facility headquartered in Missouri at Fort Leonard Wood.

Valorous Unit Award presented to Texas aviation regiment illustrates Guard 'warfight' mission

Maj. Gen. James K. "Red" Brown, commander of the 36th Infantry Division, and Col. Rick Adams place the Valorous Unit Award on the "colors" of the 1-149th Attack-Reconnaissance Battalion during a ceremony held Feb. 8, 2014, at Ellington Field. The unit was awarded this high honor for exceptional performance during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 1-149th is an AH-64 "Apache" battalion assigned to the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade and earned the award for their 2006-2007 deployment to Iraq.
Widow of fallen Soldier joins Florida Army National Guard

Pvt. Alecia Calloway is one of the newest members of the Florida Army National Guard. On Aug. 27, 2014, Calloway - a widow of an Army Soldier - took the Oath of Enlistment at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Jacksonville, joining the Florida Army National Guard’s 2153rd Finance Detachment.

Soldiers with the Virginia Army National Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package, or CERFP, work through a training exercise as part of the CERFP Heavy Collapse Specialist Course at Camp Gruber, Okla. The CERFP is trained in a variety of techniques in order to respond to large-scale disaster situations where urban search and rescue skills area needed.
