Former Alaska National Guard TAG is NGB inspector general

Army Maj. Gen. Laurie Hummel makes remarks during her January 2019 retirement ceremony as the adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard. Hummel came out of retirement to become the National Guard Bureau inspector general in May 2020.

Cal National Guard Soldiers assist car wreck victim

Soldiers with the California National Guard's 1st Battalion, 185th Infantry Regiment, responded to a car accident in Los Angeles June 2, 2020. Spc. Abdel Rahman Ali, 1-185th combat medic, assisted an injured civilian while other members of the team put out a brush fire caused by the accident and redirected traffic.

June 1950: The Georgia National Guard and the Korean War

Georgia National Guard Capt. Barney Casteel at the controls of the first F-84 Thunderjet assigned to the 128th Fighter Squadron. On Jan 21, 1952, while assigned to the 136th Bomber Wing, Casteel was killed conducting an armed reconnaissance mission north of Pyongyang, North Korea. He was the last Georgia Air National Guard pilot killed in Korea.
