Schaller Sept. 10, 2020, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Schaller joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 32nd Division on April 29, 1941, and was killed in New Guinea on Feb. 20, 1944. He was buried in an unmarked grave at the cemetery in 1949 until a local historian discovered it through research.
