127th Wing makes historic highway landing

Ammo Rodeo on target with creative, mission-focused training

Airmen compete in the annual Ammo Rodeo, a two-week munitions training competition at Volk Field in Wisconsin July 28, 2021. About 50 U.S. Air Force Guard and Reserve members from units all over the country spent a week doing classroom work before competing in the bomb-building event.

Alaska Air National Guard hoists injured hiker to safety

Pararescue personnel with the Alaska Air National Guard’s 210th Rescue Squadron used an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter like this one in the search for 12 mountaineers stranded in poor weather on Klutlan Glacier southeast of Mt. Bona in Wrangell-St Elias National Park. The mountaineers were rescued June 1 after the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, dispatched an Alaska Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook with a paramedic from the 2nd Battalion, 211 Aviation Regiment.

Kentucky Guard crosses state lines for Patriot Press

Trucks from the 2113th Transportation Company of the Kentucky National Guard receive loads during annual training June 2-10, 2021. The unit transported 625,000 pounds of explosive ordinance between Paducah Kentucky, the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester, Oklahoma, and the Naval Support Activity in Crane, Indiana, during Operation Patriot Press.
