Kentucky Air National Guard Rescues Flood Victims

An Airman from the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 123rd Special Tactics Squadron searches for flood victims from a helicopter in Eastern Kentucky July 30, 2022. In response to devastating flooding, the unit coordinated 29 rotary-wing relief missions, rescued 19 people and two dogs, and recovered four bodies.

Pennsylvania Guard Joins Dense Urban Terrain Exercise

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Pennsylvania National Guard’s 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade flies over Philadelphia during a Dense Urban Terrain exercise. The exercise, which ran from July 25 to 29, was conducted by Task Force 46, a 600-personnel chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear response element comprising National Guard units from states across the country.
