130th Airlift Wing practices ACE during Flare 2023

Maintainers assigned to the 130th Maintenance Group, Charleston, W.Va., practice tactical combat casualty care after a simulated attack during the unit’s Fly Away Readiness Exercise  March 30, 2023, at the Combat Readiness Training Center in Gulfport, Miss. FLARE is a commander-directed readiness exercise to inform commanders of their units’ ability to deploy using the Agile Combat Employment model.

Nevada, Wyoming Air Guard Conduct Mountain Airlift Training

Alaska Army Guard ‘First Scouts’ Honored for 1955 Rescue

Bruce Boolowon, the only surviving member of the June 22, 1955, rescue team March 28, 2023, in Gambell, Alaska. The Alaska Heroism Medal is the state’s highest award for valor during peacetime.

New York Air National Guard Supports Antarctic Research

Cargo is loaded onto a LC-130 Hercules at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, to be delivered to a research station on the continent. The 109th Airlift Wing flies the only ski-equipped LC-130s in the world and supports the National Science Foundation research efforts in Antarctica every year.
