National Guard leaders honor newest Serbian officers

Serbia is Ohio's partner in the 62-nation National Guard State Partnership Program.
New York Guard leaves for South African air show

A, 1st Battalion 224 Security and Support Aviation as he and other maintainers prepare the aircraft for a flight to Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 13, 2010. Ressler, and four other members of the detachment, will accompany the aircraft to the Africa Aerospace and Defense Exposition 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa. The helicopter will be loaded on board a giant C-5A Galaxy belonging to the 105th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard.

Illinois, North Dakota participate in MEDFLAG 10 in Congo

Members of the 814th Area Support Medical Company of the North Dakota National Guard sort through medical supplies in preparation for MEDFLAG 10. Participants arrived in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo and began to prepare for MEDFLAG 10, a joint medical exercise focused on humanitarian assistance that will take place in Kinshasa, Sept. 6-18, 2010.

Maj. Dan Schilling, the former director of the Oregon National Guard’s State Partnership Program, meets with Lt. Gen. Mohammed Abdul Wadud, the principle staff officer for the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh in Dhaka, Aug. 9, 2010. Schilling and officials from the Portland International Airport met with Bangladeshi transportation officials to discuss security and safety protocols, based on a collaborative work plan developed in April. The group also discussed joint training and information sharing for disaster response, humanitarian aid, and training exercises as part of an overall SPP strategic plan.
