Alaska Air Guard pararescue teams save injured hiker

An aircrew with the Alaska Air National Guard’s 210th Rescue Squadron flies at treetop level aboard an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter while taking part in a search and rescue training event. Aircrews from the 210th RQS, in addition to crews from the 211th and 212th Rescue Squadrons, rescued an injured hiker near Pioneer Peak, Alaska, Thursday.  Aircrews and pararescue teams from the squadrons often assist the U.S. Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers, the National Park Service and other agencies with search and rescue missions.

Ill. Army Guard Soldier's invention adopted Army-wide, reduces equipment repair costs while increasing Soldier safety

Wesley Todd, with the Illinois Army National Guard’s 333rd Military Police Company, checks the measurements on a device he invented that makes removing a siezed howitzer muzzle break easier and safer for Soldiers when performing repairs or maintenance on the guns. The device has been adopted by the Army and is scheduled to be manufactured and distributed to maintenance organizations Army-wide.

The event is meant to honor those who have died in service to the country and mirrors an event held at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., home station for many units of the brigade.

Puerto Rico Guard assists with response to island-wide power outages

Iowa Army Guard commissions first female infantry officer

Michigan Air Guard's 127th Wing earns top AF unit award

Georgia Army Guard Soldiers don 3rd ID patch as part of associated unit program
