Virginia Guard Aviation Battalion Ends Kosovo Mission

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Matthew C. Lewis, commander of the 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, Virginia Army National Guard (Task Force Pegasus), and Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph R. Viera, the battalion command sergeant major, cased their unit’s flag, or colors, during a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Oct. 11, 2022. The casing of the colors signifies the end of the task force’s rotation in Kosovo.

Virginia National Guard Prepared for Possible Severe Weather

The Virginia National Guard staged eight Soldiers and four tactical trucks capable of high water transportation on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and 12 Soldiers and six trucks at readiness centers in the Hampton Roads area Oct. 3. Soldiers from Maryland, North Carolina and Ohio joined Virginia Soldiers for the five-day course, which prepares Soldiers to conduct professional military funeral honors in accordance with service tradition.

Virginia Guard Returns From Federal Active Duty in Iraq, Kuwait

The first groups of the Virginia National Guard’s Virginia Beach-based 329th Regional Support Group Headquarters return to Norfolk, Virginia, June 17, 2022, and reunite with loved ones, after supporting Operation Inherent Resolve at multiple locations Oct. 7, 2021, to June 6, 2022. The 329th’s mission was to provide mission command and base life support to Al Asad Air Base, Erbil Air Base and Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center in Iraq and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

National Guard Coordinates Transport of German Satellite
