Pre-enlistment Course Helps Turn Recruits into Soldiers

The U.S. Army started a Future Soldier Preparatory Course program at Fort Jackson, S.C., to help America’s youth overcome academic and physical fitness barriers to service so they can earn the opportunity to join the Army. Since the inception of the three-week course in early August , the National Guard has referred over 500 potential recruits to the pre-enlistment program, with 301 on standby.
