Soldiers attached to G Company, 186nd Brigade Support Battalion, continued supporting the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in snow removal operations Feb. 19, 2015. Over the course of the day, over 40 Soldiers cleaned portions of the tracks that were inaccessible to machines by hand with picks, shovels and brooms. This essential work accelerated the restoration of Red Line train line service, which according to MBTA officials, can see up to 250,000 passengers a day.

The Virginia Air National Guard’s Virginia Beach-based 203rd RED HORSE Squadron holds a memorial service March 3, 2015, at Camp Pendleton to honor 18 unit members and three Florida Army Guard aviators killed 14 years ago. The 203rd engineers and the Florida aviators from Detachment 1, 171st Aviation Battalion, were killed March 3, 2001, when the C-23 Sherpa they were flying in crashed in a cotton field near Unadilla, Ga. The 203rd members were returning home after completing a two-week military construction project at Hurlburt Field, Fla. The C-23 crash was the worst peacetime aviation disaster in the history of the National Guard, and the worst loss of life in the Virginia National Guard since World War II. (
