Army Guard members take third place; make strong showing at Best Ranger competition

Friedlein and Killian took first place in last year's competition, the first time an Army Guard team won the competition. This year's competition saw them take third place, with other Army Guard teams finishing in 10th and 18th place.

New York National Guard Marks 100th Anniversary of the Day the U.S. entered World War 1

75 years ago, Guard members endured Bataan Death March

U.S. Army National Guard and Filipino soldiers shown at the outset of the Bataan Death March. Allied forces were forced to surrender to the Japanese on April 9, 1942, the largest surrender in U.S. history. Their defense and sacrifice under dire circumstances allowed the United States badly needed time to mobilize in the Pacific Theater of War, and avoided a greater catastrophe beyond the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

Oregon National Guard honors 41st Division and World War I centennial

Veterans of World War II joined current Soldiers of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team to celebrate the 41st Division Centennial Anniversary, April 1, 2017, in a ceremony at the 41st Infantry Division Armed Forces Reserve Center at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Ore. The ceremony honored the 41st Division's 100-year history and generations of service from World War I to the Soldiers of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team today.
