Army Materiel Command integrates Guard, Reserve in sustainment mission

Staff Sgt. Danielle Milke does a walk-through inspection of an M1A2 Abrams tank with AMC's Chief Warrant Officer 5 Darren Cook and a contract employee, Sept. 19, 2016, in Romania. The tanks were used during a U.S. Army Europe multinational training exercise. Milke volunteered to be the NCOIC for Army Prepositioned Stocks-Romania, and is a maintenance NCO for the Army Sustainment Command-Army Reserve Element, Detachment 12 from Fort Bragg, N.C.

New York Airman honored for lifesaving action in diner

New York Air National Guard Tech Sgt. Christina Watson, a member of the 174th Attack Wing based at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in Syracuse, N.Y. was honored for her role in saving a life in April 2016 by the American Red Cross North Central New York chapter during a Dec. 7, 2016, award ceremony in Syracuse.

National Guard sibling Soldiers start tradition of serving

The annual event recognizes the former President Martin Van Buren, a Columbia County native who died on July 24, 1862 in Kinderhook, N.Y. He was born on Dec. 5, 1782.

Air National Guard 'cable guys' are saving U.S. Strategic Command millions on project

A team of Air National Guard members working on a project for the U.S. Strategic Command is saving STRATCOM millions of dollars. The project at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., is running about 600 miles of cable for the Strategic Command.

South Dakota Guard members train for duty at Presidential Inauguration
