Pararescuemen Staff Sgt. Jeremy Madama, on ground, and Master Sgt. Johhny Davis deploy from a 210th Rescue Squadron HH-60 Pave Hawk via fast rope. Both are members of the Alaska National Guard, which saved 48 lives in Alaska in 2009 and assisted 12 others to safety during another busy year.

New Iraq post office honors four Illinois Guardsmen

Four Illinois National Guard Soldiers were honored Dec. 17, 2009 with a memorial at Joint Base Balad, Iraq outside the east post office. The four Soldiers were from the 1544th Transportation Company of Paris, Ill., and were honored for their support of postal operations in Iraq.
