Gen. Daniel Hokanson, chief, National Guard Bureau, and Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael Loh, director of the Air National Guard, praised the Airmen for their heroic actions flying a C-17 Globemaster military transport aircraft into Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, as Taliban forces took the capital city in August 2021.
