Airmen inspired by Good Grief camp on Memorial Day weekend

Staff Sgt. Mandi Hagen of the North Dakota Air National Guard's 119th Wing hugs her mentee during the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) at a Good Grief Camp in Washington, D.C., May 29, 2010. This is Hagen’s fourth year volunteering her personal time and money to take part in the camp that focuses on helping children of military families who have lost loved ones. Hagen is one of five Airmen from the North Dakota Air National Guard who participated in the Good Grief Camp this year.

Dakota C. Johnson, 16, of Gastonia, N.C., was recently selected as the Air National Guard 2010 Youth of the Year. The rising senior at Highland School of Technology, along with 10 other Air Force Youths of the Year winners will be flown to Washington D.C., to attend a ceremony and teen forum at the Pentagon.
