In support of Maui County authorities, Joint Task Force 5-0, composed of the Hawaii Army and Air National Guard, Army active duty and Reserve, is dedicated to the safety and recovery of affected Maui residents, coordinating with local first responders and adhering to local, state and federal guidelines and laws.

Louisiana National Guard Mobilized to Battle Wildfires

The Louisiana National Guard deployed one engineer assessment team and 16 bulldozers with crew members from the 225th Engineer Brigade to Singer to help the Louisiana Forestry Department clear and widen fire lanes to help prevent the spread of wildfires in the area. Almost 100 Soldiers were supporting the wildfire response, including Black Hawk and Chinook helicopter crews.
