Women from the Colorado Air National Guard and Jordanian Armed Forces participate in the V Walk at the High Ropes course at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., June 5, 2012. Colorado and Jordan started women’s leadership events back in 2009 and have executed eight of these types of events since. The National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program links U.S. states with foreign nations to promote and enhance bilateral relations; supporting homeland defense and international relations by nurturing dependable, collaborative partners for coalition operations in an era of persistent conflict. Vermont Air National Guard members among U.S. service members providing humanitarian aid in Senegal

U.S. service members carry a local woman unable to walk into the gates of the clinic in Thies, Senegal, July 11, 2012. The medical care provided by U.S. service members is part of Exercise Western Accord 2012, a multi-lateral exercise with Senegalese and several West Africa nations. The training exercise runs from June 26 - July 24 and involves the armed forces of Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gambia and France, as well as U.S. service members – primarily Reservists from the Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Cameroon: National Guard joins 36 nations in Africa's largest communications exercise

National Guard members from two states and the District of Columbia are participating in the annual communications exercise sponsored by U.S. Africa Command, which focuses on the interoperability of equipment and information sharing among military representatives throughout the African Union and partner nations.
