Staff Sgt. Sherman Heathcock of the Mississippi National Guard and his family were recently selected as the recipients of the new house from the ABC television show, "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition." The house was built Dec. 3-10. Heathcock is currently deployed to Iraq with the 155th Brigade Combat Team which is scheduled to return home in February.

Sgt. 1st Class Brett Meredith (center) inspects the rigging used to secure specialized rigging to a sling point on a U.S. Coast Guard MH-60T "Jayhawk" helicopter that crashed March 3, approximately 50 miles east of Salt Lake City. The Colorado National Guard successfully recovered the boom and the 15,700 pound fuselage in a daring three-hour high-altitude salvage operation using a CH-47 Chinook helicopter and a specialized 150-foot long remote controlled cable.

Nicole Davidson undergoes a dental exam as part of the Sustained Readiness Program at Marseilles Training Center in preparation for the deployment of 440 Illinois National Guard Soldiers to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. Davidson is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 123rd Field Artillery Regiment based in Milan, Ill., which is scheduled to deploy to Egypt in May. The Soldiers will be part of the Multinational Force and Observers. The international peacekeeping force oversees the terms of the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.
