New Hampshire Army Guard Pilot Injured in Iraq Returns to Cockpit

South Carolina Guard Airman Receives Bronze Star Medal

Christopher Vine, a radar, airfield, and weather systems technician with the 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina Air National Guard, is presented the Bronze Star Medal from Lt. Col. Zachary Counts, the 245th ATCS commander, Oct. 15, 2023. Vine received the award for his achievements while deployed to Iraq in 2022.

Virginia Guard Returns From Federal Active Duty in Iraq, Kuwait

The first groups of the Virginia National Guard’s Virginia Beach-based 329th Regional Support Group Headquarters return to Norfolk, Virginia, June 17, 2022, and reunite with loved ones, after supporting Operation Inherent Resolve at multiple locations Oct. 7, 2021, to June 6, 2022. The 329th’s mission was to provide mission command and base life support to Al Asad Air Base, Erbil Air Base and Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center in Iraq and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

Post Office to be Named After Fallen Illinois National Guardsman

Illinois Army National Guard Spc. Jeremy Ridlen of Paris, Illinois, was among approximately 170 Soldiers who deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in December 2003 with the 1544th Transportation Company. He was just 23 years old when he died from small-arms fire May 23, 2004.

1022nd Engineer Co. completes construction projects in Iraq

A team of 1022nd Engineer Company Soldiers in Iraq, led by Staff Sgt. Bryon Granderson, has been working on multiple vertical construction projects at Erbil Air Base, Iraq, including sun shades, chairs and benches, platforms, and most recently, over a dozen sets of staircases. The staircases will be used by U.S. troops, coalition forces and partner nations.
