C-130H crew lands at international air show

Staff Sgt. Stephanie Rowland, Lt. Col. Kenda Garrett, Master Sgt. Erin Evans, Staff Sgt. Jessica McGilton, Maj. Janelle Guillebeau, Senior Airman Ashlyn Hendrickson, Technical Sgt. Nicole Beck, Lt. Col. Sarah O’Banion, and Staff Sgt. Tracie Winston after landing in Abbottsford, British Columbia, Canada, to support the annual Sky’s No Limit – Girls Fly Too aerial symposium. This is the first all-female C-130H crew in the history of the annual event.

Red Arrow Soldier laid to rest 75 years after death in WWII

Army Tech 5th Grade John E. Bainbridge of Sheboygan, Wis., was laid to rest Sept. 29, 2019, in Monona more than 75 years after his death during the Battle of Buna in World War II. Bainbridge joined the Wisconsin National Guard’s 32nd Infantry Division in 1940 and was killed in New Guinea Dec. 2, 1942; he rested unknown in Manila American Cemetery until his remains were identified via DNA analysis by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.

Vivian Roberts, the only Georgia Guardsman POW during World War I, in his American Legion uniform. Roberts was shot in the leg and captured by German soldiers in France in 1918. After the war, he served as clerk of Bibb County Superior Court in Georgia.

'Pilot for a Day' at the 179th Airlift Wing
