National Guard to back law enforcement at DC demonstrations

The District of Columbia National Guard will help U.S. Capitol and D.C. police at traffic control points in the nation's capital during anticipated First Amendment protests in February and March 2022. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III approved the assistance of up to 400 DCNG members and 300 Guard members from outside the District of Columbia.

Virginia National Guard unit prepares for overseas mission

Nebraska Guard assists with civilian airplane emergency

A Nebraska Army National Guard UH-60 crew chief and flight medic assist civilian copilots, both of whom were unharmed, after their small airplane made an emergency landing Feb. 10, 2022, in a cornfield outside Lincoln, Neb. The UH-60 crew had been on a nighttime training flight at the time of the emergency and were able to locate the crash site and relay the location to first responders.
