Georgia Army Guard Soldiers don 3rd ID patch as part of associated unit program

Soldiers of the Georgia Army National Guard’s 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the active component’s 3rd Infantry Division salute during a patch changing ceremony at Fort Stewart, Georgia, where the Soldiers of the 48th IBCT officially donned the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 3rd ID. The two units have been paired together as part of the associated unit program, which integrates reserve and active component units at nearly all levels to enhance training, readiness and the ability to deploy.

Texas Guardsmen from the unit collected more than 20 bags of clothes, appliances, tools, diapers, baby formula and food for the victims of the natural disaster and transported them more than 250 miles for the guardsmen and their families.
