Virginia Guardsman participate in pilot adventure program

Virginia National Guard Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team travel down the Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania Sept. 13. The Soldiers were particpating in Warrior Adventure Quest, an Army pilot program designed to curb high-risk behavior in redeploying Soldiers by giving them an outlet through high-adventure activities.

Colonel Fennell is finishing up what will most likely be his last combat deployment with the A-10. As part of the 111th Fighter Wing, a Pennsylvania Air National Guard unit, the 103rd FS is scheduled to lose its aircraft in the spring of 2009. Colonel Fennell is a pilot with the 103rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron.
