OSAA Guardsmen welcome veterans for Hanks, Spielberg show

Colorado Guard recovers Coast Guard helicopter from crash site

The Colorado National Guard successfully recovered the boom and the 15,700 pound fuselage in a daring three-hour high-altitude salvage operation using a CH-47 Chinook helicopter and a specialized 150-foot long remote controlled cable.

North Dakota Guard mobilizes for flood duty today

Army Guard strives to improve medical readiness

Nicole Davidson undergoes a dental exam as part of the Sustained Readiness Program at Marseilles Training Center in preparation for the deployment of 440 Illinois National Guard Soldiers to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. Davidson is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 123rd Field Artillery Regiment based in Milan, Ill., which is scheduled to deploy to Egypt in May. The Soldiers will be part of the Multinational Force and Observers. The international peacekeeping force oversees the terms of the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

Alaska Army Guard partners with Coast Guard to save hiker

An Alaska Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter sits on Meade
Glacier while Juneau and Douglas mountain rescue teams aid a hiker stranded since March 7, 2010. Army Guard and Coast Guard crews were finally able to reach the hikers location after four unsuccessful Coast Guard attempts due to dense fog and various weather conditions. Alaska State Troopers estimated the area he was stranded in has received 12 feet of snow since Feb. 20.
