National Guard aids in Pakistan flood relief

Vermont Army National Guard members from 1st Platoon, A Company, 1st Battalion, 172nd Cavalry of the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team along with members of E Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade pull a liner open to spread it out, before placing a fuel bladder on top as part of a forward area refueling point in Rubicon. Galbadrehk Galae, Mongolia Armed Forces, in the Songinokhairkhan district of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Aug. 16. Sgt. Antonio is working with the 797th Engineering Company (Vertical) from Barrigada, Guam and the Mongolian Armed Forces during Khaan Quest 2010. Sgt Antonio’s is responsible for providing medical support to both US and Mongolian participants.

Army Maj. Nathlon Jackson receives the Soldier’s Medal from Gen. Jackson received the award for her bravery on Jan. 11, 2010, when she entered a burning home and rescued Shirley Rollins, who had been overcome by smoke from the fire. The Soldier’s Medal is the Army’s highest non-combat medal.
