Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency in Missouri on Monday and activated the Missouri National Guard in preparation for a severe winter storm that is moving into the region.

Shauna Rohbock, of the Utah Army National Guard, (right) and Michelle Rzepka push USA I to a start time of 5.20 seconds in the third heat of the Olympic women's bobsled event at the Whistler Sliding Centre. They finished sixth in the competition with a four-run combined time of 3 minutes, 34.06 seconds. The Canadian duo of Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse won the gold medal in 3:32.28. Rohbock is considering retiring from the sport after the 2011 World Championships.
