Over the course of the day, over 40 Soldiers cleaned portions of the tracks that were inaccessible to machines by hand with picks, shovels and brooms. This essential work accelerated the restoration of Red Line train line service, which according to MBTA officials, can see up to 250,000 passengers a day.
