The Best Warrior competitors represent each of New York's brigades after winning competitions at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. The two winners of the competition, one junior enlisted and one NCO, advance to compete at the regional level later this year.

Veterans of World War II joined current Soldiers of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team to celebrate the 41st Division Centennial Anniversary, April 1, 2017, in a ceremony at the 41st Infantry Division Armed Forces Reserve Center at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Ore. Guard members dominate Army marksmanship competition

Army Sgt. Max Nickerson, an avionics mechanic with the Maine Army National Guard's Company D, 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment, earned first place in the U.S. Army Small Arms Championship competition, March 12-18 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Out of the competition's 23 categories, Guard members gave up first place standings in just two, and the top seven of the 35 teams competing in the team category were Guard teams.
