Texas National Guard conducts final roll call for 10-year-old Spc. Rowan Windham

Honorary enlistee Rowan Windham renders a salute after being presented with his own Cavalry Stetson. Windham was honorarily enlisted into the Texas Army National Guard at a ceremony held at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, March 27, 2015. During one of his stays at the Children's Hospital in San Antonio, Rowan met Sgt. David Hixson, a medic with the Texas Army National Guard. There, Rowan shared his dream of always wanting to be a Soldier and soon after, Hixson, with the help of fellow Texas National Guard members, made it all possible.

The most common types of injuries the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron fire department responds to in the winter are trips, slips and falls on ice, said Tobey Beagle, a fire captain with the Illinois Department of Military Affairs. Some falls can be prevented by wearing traction cleats over shoes and applying ice-melt salt to sidewalks.
