Pararescuemen from the 129th Rescue Wing of the California Air National Guard prepare to jump from the rear door of a Coast Guard C-130 Hercules airplane about 1,400 miles southwest of San Diego, Calif., April 1, 2010. The Coast Guard and Air National Guard worked together to respond to medevac an injured 57-year-old man by dropping four pararescuemen, an inflatable boat and other rescue and survival equipment.

Arkansas Air Guard deploys for first time with A-10s

The ADT dropped by the flight line to visit their fellow Arkansans deployed at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The 188th currently has over 200 of its members deployed as part of the 451st Air Expeditionary Wing at Kandahar. The ADT Team is in Kandahar for some training before moving out to their forward operating base.

training exercise before Guardian Challenge at Fairchild Air Force Base,
Wash., on March 26-28, 2010. The combat communications event will be held at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., April 17-19. Air Force Space Command hosts Guardian Challenge every two years, and this year for the first time the Washington Air National Guard will compete.

Wisconsin employers get first-hand look at Soldiers' training

Mike Wright, a Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet at King's College, was sworn into the Pennsylvania Army National Guard at a ceremony held at the Kingston Armory in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Army Guard names top combative champions

The Illinois National Guard scored the highest out of all teams with 171 total bout points, earning the 2010 ARNG Combatives Tournament Team Champion Trophy at Fort Benning, Ga., March 26-28, 2010. The Soldiers, who participated in the tournament, include: Spc. Jesus Aguilar; Spc. Kenneth Browne; 1st Lt. Thomas Robideau; Staff Sgt. Joshua Lipa; Sgt. Adam Therriault (second place welterweight); Staff Sgt. Tony Genovese; Staff Sgt. Nicholas Grant (third place middleweight); Spc. Brian Case; Sgt. Aoutneil Magny (third place cruiserweight); Spc. Eric Huntley; Sgt. Jeremy Stimac (fourth place light heavyweight); Staff Sgt. Adam Boge; Staff Sgt. John Shaw (fourth place heavyweight).

The transfer occurred in the hanger of the Company B, 935th Aviation and Company B, 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation Armory in Chicago.
