American, NATO allies unite at Slovak Shield 2016

U.S. Army Soldiers, Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, Czech Army, Polish Armed Forces and Hungarian Defense Forces soldiers stand in formation during the Slovak Shield 2016 opening ceremony Oct. 6, 2016 at Military Training Area Lest, Slovak Republic.. Slovak Shield will expand its ‘scale of operations’, interoperability and joint force training with more than two thousand U.S. and allied forces training in MTA Lest and other locations throughout Slovakia.
Allied Spirit V offers realistic combat experience to National Guard

More than 60 soldiers from the California Army National Guard's 40th Infantry Division are serving as the Higher Control (HICON) during Exercise Allied Spirit V through mid-October 2016. The soldiers are providing direction and expertise to military units from 8 NATO nations, including several U.S. active duty and reserve component personnel. The U.S. Army Europe training involves more than 2,500 participants working to strengthen tactical interoperability and test secure communications between NATO members and partner nations.

Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Partner, with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, carries the unit’s guidon while rucking 28 miles during the March for the Fallen ruck march held on Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. The event is meant to honor those who have died in service to the country and mirrors an event held at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., home station for many units of the brigade.

Colorado Air Guard members flew in Hungary with Operation Atlantic Resolve

In conjunction with Operation Atlantic Resolve, the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, from Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado, has deployed approximately 200 Airmen to Pápa Air Base, Hungary, to conduct familiarization training.
