California National Guard member rescues woman from sinking car

Sgt. 1st Class Michael Long holds an award recognizing him as the California Army National Guard's top recruiter for 2015, having enlisted 31 new, non-prior-service soldiers, Dec. 4 at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif. Only a few weeks later, on Dec. 30, Long would jump into Markham Ravine near Lincoln to rescue a woman who was trapped in her sinking car. With the help of a retired Airman and a California Highway Patrol officer, Long was able to help the woman to safety.

Dean during her retirement ceremony, DC Armory, Washington, Feb. 21. Graham received several awards for 27 years of distinguished service and countless achievements through her career to include the Legion of Merit and the DCNG Meritorious Service Medal.
