New Jersey Air Guard team proud to support 380th AEW operations

A nine-person team from the New Jersey Air National Guard's 108th Force Support Squadron, 108th Air Refueling Wing, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., are deployed supporting operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa for the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia. The team includes, from left, Senior Airman Abdul Montaser, Airman 1st Class Andre Jackson, Staff Sgt. Heather Bartlett, Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Berry, Tech. Sgt. Lauren Holba, Tech. Sgt. Taylor Holba, Senior Airman Darnell Holmes, Senior Airman Levar Kinard, and Airman 1st Class Patricia Arias.

Soldiers of the North Dakota Army National Guard’s 957th Engineer Company (Multi-Role Bridge Company) work on securing the Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) emplaced on the Missouri River south of Bismarck, N.D., June 10-11, 2010. MKII Bridge Erection Boats (BEB) are depicted on both sides of the bridge as a backhoe is crossing the bridge. The 957th participated in an evaluation of the new “Thrust and Shore Guy” anchorage system with Product Manager Bridging, Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), TACOM Research, Development and Engineer Center (TARDEC), Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, and the National Guard Bureau.

Spc. Skyler W. Genest a military policeman assigned to Troop B, 1-172nd Calvary Squadron, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain) of the Vermont National Guard, takes his project bike for a ride, April 13, 2010. Genest found this project bike in the back of a storage bunker and decided to spend some of his free time fixing it up. Genest is an admitted tinkerer back home likes the challenge of trying to fix a 40-year-old motorcycle. He is quick to point out the .50 caliber ammunition box that he modified to be the gas tank.

Sgt. Adam Lock, a recruiter with the Illinois National Guard, has found a way to enjoy his two favorite hobbies: fishing and talking about the National Guard. The 29-year-old is the only National Guard member on the Forrest L. Wood (FLW) Fishing Tour, which is sponsored by the National Guard.
