New video series will help Soldiers get and stay in shape

By Guard Your Health Army National Guard Chief Surgeon's Office

ARLINGTON, Va. - Guard Your Health recently launched its #WarriorReady Workout video series to help Soldiers amp up their PT routine and stay mission ready. The 15-second videos show Soldiers how to do quick, effective workouts that can be done anytime, anywhere.

With one in 20 Soldiers failing the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), #WarriorReady Workout videos take Soldiers one step closer to being medically ready to deploy or mobilize. In the National Guard, even high-performing Soldiers may find it challenging to fit in a daily workout on top of their civilian and Soldier duties.

With Guard Your Health’s #WarriorReady Workout videos, Soldiers can keep up with PT when they aren’t with their units, even if they don’t have access to a gym. The full-body workouts can be performed anywhere, making fitness convenient for Soldiers.

Each video features four exercises with suggested timing for reps. The workouts can be adapted to anyone’s fitness level by doing more or fewer reps in the time suggested for each exercise. After watching the 15-second video, Soldiers can perform the exercises on their own, with a battle buddy, or with family members. Visit Guard Your Health’s Tumblr page for further instructions on proper exercise form and step-by-step pictures.

Check out all the videos on Guard Your Health’s website and share them with a friend. Follow the conversation and share your fitness progress by using #WarriorReady on social media.
