PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, - Soldiers of the Louisiana National Guard's 1021st Engineer Company from the 205th Engineer Battalion will construct three school projects for the communities of Diaquoi, Desronvilles and De Mandrin.

The unit along with Belize military forces will prep the school walls, fill them with concrete and construct the roof to complete these projects.

"Our Soldiers are doing a great job, with high morale," said Staff Sergeant Matthew Farrell, the non-commissioned officer In charge of the Diaquoi school project. "They enjoy working with the joint forces of Task Force Kout Men and are eager to help the Haitians in their recovery efforts."

Staff Sgt. Matthew Farrell said his main focus is keeping his Soldiers hydrated and the project area safe, while they frame, form and check structure integrity of the school walls in preparation for the concrete pour that will happen later this week.

"We are excited to work with the units of theTask Force Kout Men and help the locals rebuild a part of their community," said Spc. Dustin Porte.
