ARPC announces fiscal 2008 ANG promotions to lieutenant colonel, major

DENVER, Co. - The Air Reserve Personnel Center here announced today the fiscal 2008 Air National Guard Line and Nonline Lieutenant Colonel and Major Promotion Selection Boards results that selected 541 officers for promotion.

A selection board convened at ARPC on April 16 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members reviewed the records of more than 690 Air National Guard line and nonline officers.

Categories considered during this promotion board are: Line, Chaplain, Dental Corps (DC), Line of the Air Force-Judge Advocate (LAF-J), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC) officers.

The results of the fiscal 2008 Air National Guard boards follow:

  • 313 line officers selected from 386 considered for an 81 percent selection rate.
  • Seven chaplain officers selected from eight considered for an 88 percent selection rate.
  • Three DC officers selected from three considered.
  • Five LAF-J officers selected from six considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
  • Five MC officers selected from six considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
  • 19 NC officers selected from 24 considered for a 79 percent selection rate.
  • Four MCS officers selected from six considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
  • Five BCS officers selected from six considered for an 83 percent select rate.
To major
  • 75 line officers selected from 81 considered for a 93 percent selection rate.
  • Four chaplain officers selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate.

Promotion effective dates are based on the individual's time in grade. Projected effective dates will be posted on the ARPC Web site at www.arpc.afrc.af.mil by Aug. 16 at noon Mountain Time.
