It was part of an inspection conducted by the Joint Interagency Training and Education Center every two years to measure the team’s ability to respond to a disaster.

After climbing to 10,000 feet, free fall-qualified Soldiers used the Army’s new Advanced Ram Air Parachute System, which is not expected to reach full operational fielding until 2022.

The training consisted of classroom learning and a live-fire range with the MAAWS, an 84-millimeter recoilless rifle.
