Airmen from the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard, transport and deliver cases of Remdesivir, one of the therapeutic treatments believed to be effective against the omicron COVID-19 variant, on Jan. 14, 2022, at the Maryland Strategic National Stockpile location. At the direction of Governor Larry Hogan, up to 1,000 MDNG members were activated to assist state and local health officials with their response to rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations to include the distribution of treatment medicine and personal protective equipment.
