Airman 1st Class Conner Meling, 142nd Communications Flight, Portland Air National Guard Base, Ore., provides temperature screening services at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The Oregon National Guard mobilized 1,588 service members and provided over 300,000 labor hours at more than 20 hospitals across Oregon.
Wisconsin National Guard supports COVID testing, vaccination

Wisconsin National Guard Citizen-Soldiers and -Airmen collect specimens for COVID-19 testing in 2021. The Wisconsin National Guard has multiple COVID-19 specimen collection teams operating throughout the state and has administered nearly 1.2 million COVID tests and more than 230,000 vaccines statewide since the pandemic began.
Louisiana Guard ‘Protects What Matters’ in challenging year

The only bridge to Barataria was damaged during Hurricane Ida and was rendered inoperable.

U.S. Army Maj. Melinda F. Moyer, D.N.P., director of clinical programs, New Jersey National Guard Joint Surgeons Office, Joint Force Headquarters-Army, received the Army Nurse Corps Association 2021 Military Nursing Evidence-Based Practice Award in Lawrenceville, N.J., Dec. 8, 2021. Moyer was honored for her work with Yale University studying COVID infections among military personnel.

The Massachusetts National Guard was activated in mid-October to augment COVID-19 testing personnel in school districts across Massachusetts.

The staffing support provided by members of the Ohio National Guard and State Defense Force was the helping hand that many hospitals and communities needed during the spike of COVID-19 cases around the state from December into early this year. More than 2,000 Soldiers and Airmen were activated by Gov. Mike DeWine during that timeframe to help relieve hospitals and health care facilities, which welcomed the assistance due to employee shortages and illnesses.
