U.S. Army soldiers assigned to Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment (Long Range Fires Battalion), 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, move a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to a firing location on Shemya Island, Alaska, as part of a force projection operation to the remote island in the North Pacific Ocean, Sept. 12, 2024. The operation is a display of the division’s ability to project a ready, lethal force quickly to any environment in defense of the nation and partners and allies in the region.
