The Governor's 20 Rifle Competition was held on February 24-25 at Camp Swift, Texas. This was the second of the four-part competition for the Texas Military Department soldiers. The Texas National Guard regularly hosts firearm proficiency competitions to highlight which soldiers excel at small arms skill. The competition involves a side arm match as well as the M4 rifle competition. The four-part competition started off with the pistol, followed by the rifle, machine gun and sniper competitions, throughout the year. These Texas National Guard Soldiers all are competing for the coveted Governor's 20 tab. The Texas State Guard is regularly invited by The National Guard to join the event and go head to head with Army National Guard soldiers & Air National Guard airmen.
