Washington Youth ChalleNGe Academy - From Cadet to Cadre
Joint Force Headquarters - Washington National Guard
Oct. 21, 2022 | 4:12
Cadets from the Washington Youth ChalleNGe Academy participate in the Amazing Race on October 21, at Camp Parsons in Brinnon, WA. The Amazing Race is an event where cadets go through various stations as a platoon and overcome physical and mental obstacles. Through the event, cadets are able to utilize the lessons taught in class to accomplish goals in a group environment.

Michelle Padilla, a cadre and former graduate of the Washington Youth ChalleNGe Academy talks about how she is making a deeper connection with the cadets through her personal experiences as a former cadet. Inspired by her experiences and the life-long lessons she learned at the academy, Padilla continues to stay committed to the youth in our community. (U.S. National Guard video by Peter Chang)
