USS Savannah (LCS 28) Conducts Sea RAM Launch
Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron 1
Sept. 8, 2022 | 0:11
220908-N-NO820-1004 EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept 8, 2022) Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Savannah (LCS 28) launched a Rolling Airframe Missile (SeaRAM) during the ship’s Combat Systems Ship’s Qualification Trials off the coast of San Diego, Sept. 8. Savannah’s SeaRAM launcher defends the ship against supersonic and subsonic threats to include cruise missiles, drones and helicopters, contributing to the lethality of the LCS as a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. Savannah is underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
