I'm Lance Cpl Fernando Moreno with your Marine Minute.

Last week Marines with Marine Rotational Force -- Darwin carried out their fourth trans-Pacific flight in MV-22 Ospreys.
The tiltrotor aircraft flew more than 5,300 nautical miles across the Pacific from Darwin, Australia to their home station on Marine Corps Base, Hawaii.
These milestone flights demonstrate the Marine Corps’ reach and re-sponsiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.

The flight consisted of four Ospreys from Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 363, and two KC-130J Hercules from Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152.
The two KC-130s escorted the Ospreys on each leg of the journey, stopping at islands along the route where the aircrews could rest and refuel.
The KC-130s also increased the range of the Ospreys by performing air-to-air refueling, allowing the aircraft to make longer trips without landing.

According to Marine Maj. Kyle Ladwig, Being able to fly aircraft from Australia to Hawaii is a great example of the flexibility and options that the Ospreys create for a commander.

That's it for your Marine Minute, for more news around the Corps go to Marines.mil.
