West Virginia’s 130th Airlift Wing Certified for C-130J-30

The 130th Airlift Wing has met the requirements to be declared a C-130J-30 unit with Initial Operational Capability as of Jan. 1, 2024, the West Virginia National Guard announced. The 130th has been in the process of transitioning airframes from the C-130 H3 Hercules model to the advanced C-130J-30 Super Hercules model since 2021.

The state-of-the-art transports are among eight the wing will receive over the next 11 months to replace eight aging C-130H aircraft, which were built in 1992 and have seen duty all over the world.
