Maj. Ian Swisher, executive officer of the 103rd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat, placed second overall at the 2023 U.S. Army Small Arms Championships March 12-18 at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Guard Soldier Featured in Army ‘Be All You Can Be’ Campaign

First Sgt. John Melson, then a Sgt. 1st Class and member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, was presented the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device for valor at Fort Benning, Ga., Aug. 23, 2013, for his actions in 2009 while fighting off a Taliban ambush in Gerani, Afghanistan. Melson, now a member of the Georgia National Guard, is featured in the new U.S. Army recruiting campaign commercials.
Soldier Becomes 1st Female Army Guard M1 Abrams Tank Master Gunner

Cox recently became the first female in the Army National Guard to graduate from the Abrams Master Gunner school, an advanced gunnery and maintenance school that earns graduates the designation of Abrams Master Gunner.
