Unknown, but Unforgotten: Revolutionary War Soldiers Honored

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Joseph Reale, second from left, the deputy commanding general for sustainment, 29th Infantry Division, receives the flag that covered a Revolutionary War Soldier’s casket during a burial honors ceremony April 22, 2023, at the Camden Battlefield in South Carolina. Reale, the Maryland Army National Guard’s representative at the ceremony, served with the 175th Infantry Regiment, a unit present at the Battle of Camden in 1780 and of which many of the Americans honored at the ceremony were also members.

New York National Guard Honors Revolutionary War Minuteman

Ann Washburn Lord, the fifth great-granddaughter of Private Oliver Barrett, receives an American flag in his honor from Capt. Eric Sampson of the New York National Guard Honor Guard during military honors for the dedication of a memorial stone for Barrett at the Saratoga National Cemetery Oct. 19, 2022.  Barrett volunteered as a Minuteman and died serving under the 10th Massachusetts Regiment in the Battle of Saratoga on Oct. 7, 1777, at 51 years of age.
